HOPE PRODIGAL MINISTRY
Prayer Points
1. 2 Chronicles 20: 12, 15 - 17. These verses encourage us to lay our prodigals down at the feet of Jesus. He knows what to do. . . so much better than we do. We will trust Him completely as we release our beloved prodigals to Him.
2. We will be persistent.
3. We will ask God to help us let go of shame, guilt, and blame, so that we can better help our prodigals.
4. Sin hinders prayers being answered. We will ask God to reveal sin that we are overlooking and forgive us as we repent.
5. Our prayer will be for God to help us increase our faith. (Luke 17:5)
6. We will pray for the courage to love as God loves, no matter how angry we become or no matter the circumstances. (Psalm 106:44-45)
7. Our hope is only in God, not in ourselves, treatment centers, doctors, choices we make, circumstances, or anything else.
8. We will ask God to allow our prodigals to become uncomfortable with his or her choices. Change only happens when they are uncomfortable.
9. Our prayers will be for our prodigals to become honest with themselves and others. Pray for God to cast out the strong man of deception.
10. Ask God to protect our marriage and relationships with other family members. Pray for unity and healing.
11. We should ask God to cast out every stronghold of unbelief, rebellion, jealousy, bitterness, witchcraft, worldly influence, pride, and addiction; because strongholds have to be removed before we can pray for restoration. Then, and only then, can we ask God to sanctify them, bless them to repentance, convict them of their sins and iniquity, illuminate their minds to truth, save them, and bring them back to their first love.
12. Finally, we will pray, "Lord, get our prodigals to where they need to be so that You can get them to where they need to be." Amen
Remember, Jesus loves them more than we ever could.
